With over 25 years of excellence, AMI Marine is Australia & Southeast Asia’s leading wholesale distributor and agent for the world’s best Marine, Electronic, Offshore & Safety Products.

The company has established itself as a respected leader in the market place, and has developed an extensive distribution network across Australia, Southeast Asia, and globally.

AMI Marine, with it’s Head Office in Fremantle, Western Australia, started operation in December 1986 as a Marine Equipment and Marine Electronics Distributor. In 1999 AMI Marine expanded into Marine Electronics Servicing after a merger with Bowater Marine.

AMI Marine’s Australia branches were opened in Sydney, New South Wales in1997, in Brisbane, Queensland in 1999, and in Adelaide South Australia in 2003. Further expansion internationally followed with the opening of AMI Marine International PTE LTD in Singapore in early 2006, and Vietnam in Vung Tau, Vietnam in early 2010.

As a product of 25 years of excellence, AMI Marine is now either the Principle or Sole Australian and Southeast Asian Agent for numerous major Marine, Electronic, Safety and Offshore companies such as Kelvin Hughes, IMCOS, McMurdo, KNS, Walker Marine, Noreq, Current Corp, Servowatch, OceanLED, Fujikura, ISP, Sea Recovery, Thrane & Thrane, Side-Power & Vei.

The Service Division of the company installs, maintains and repairs a large range of equipment including communications, navigation, entertainment, safety, environmental systems. AMI Marine provides its own certified engineers to carry out Radio Surveys for Flag, State and Class Societies. Currently we are approved by DNV, ABS, GL, AMSA and the Western Australia and Queensland State Marine bodies.

AMI Marine has its own internal manufacturing company producing high quality Terminal Junction Boxes and Electronic Signal Distribution Boxes which it uses in major new build or retrofit projects, that are designed around the Navigation and Electronic equipment supplied by AMI Marine. The company also has an in-house design team, which allows us to control any project, large or small, from initial concept to final commissioning.

Austal Ships
AMI Marine recently supplied the total Navigation/GMDSS/and Internal Communications Systems for 14 x HSC Ferries built by Austal Ships, for the Hong Kong – Macau Route. Systems included Kelvin Hughes x Band and S Band ‘Sharpeye’ Radars; ECIDS and VDR; sailor GMDSS A-2 Suite; Gitiesse IMCOS Internal Communications System.

Strategic Marine
The international arm of AMI Marine in Singapore recently completed the supply, installation, termination and commissioning of 7 x 40metre Fast Offshore Vessels built by Strategic Marine. Included in the package were Kelvin Hughes Manta Radar, Sailor GMDSS A-2 Suite; Navicontrol Autopilot; McMurdo EPIRBS/SARTS.

Indian Coastguard
AMI Marine has recently worked with the HSL Shipyard in Visakhapatnam, India to outfit the Indian Coastguard with 5 x 55metre Patrol Boats. AMI Marine International designed supplied; installed and commissioned the IBS (Integrated Bridge System) for these vessels. Equipment included 2 x Kelvin Hughes Radars (10KW and 25KW), Kelvin Hughes ECDIS; Walker Speed Log; Skipper Echo Sounder; and all other ancillary equipment required of an IBS.

Incat Marine
AMI Marine has recently commissioned navigation & GMDSS systems, internal communication systems, as well as alarm and monitoring systems on Incat’s latest 112 metre ferry. Included in the package was equipment from Kelvin Hughes, Gitiesse, Servowatch and SG Brown.

Directors Statement

AMI Marine is owned and operated by four hands-on directors, each responsible for their own areas of expertise. These areas of responsibility are Sales & Marketing, Operations & Logistics, Technical, and Finance & Administration.
