Overview
The MD36 range of interfaces is designed for applications where the need is for low power re-transmission. It simplifies the task of incorporating a piece of equipment into a larger system • which operates on a different transmission standard. The MD36 is a compact and robust unit which is easy to install in locations where space is restricted. The MD36/5 is used as an interface between a synchro gyro compass or synchro. TMC and other navigational aids that require a NMEA 0183 digital input. When suitably adjusted, the MD36/5 reads the synchro input heading to within 1\u00b0 and re-transmits a digital NMEA protocol with no errors on RS422 and RS232 outputs.
