MD76 HEADING MON (OFF COURSE ALARM)
MD76 HEADING MON (OFF COURSE ALARM)
NMEA Digital Input
• An alarm sounds if the vessel heading deviates by more than a pre-set amount.
• An important aid for maritime safety.
• Accepts NMEA 0183 heading data from any independent heading source.
• Fulfils the IMO requirements for using autopilot.
• Rugged, marinised aluminium alloy housing.
• Independently tested to IEC60945: 2002 by T\u00dcV Product Service Ltd.
Overview:
The MD76/8 Heading Monitor by Marine Data is an off-course safety alarm designed for seagoing vessels. An audible and visible alarm is activated at the steering position whenever a vessel deviates from a chosen course by more than a pre-set amount (in degrees). A heading monitor is a very important aid to safety at sea and is now a requirement by the IMO whenever an autopilot is installed.
Special Features:
• The MD76/8 can accept a NMEA digital heading sentence from any independent heading source and may use the heading source to monitor any heading deviations.
• On/Off activation can be linked with activation of an autopilot.
• Remote trigger circuit for an external alarm sounder.
• MD76/8 generates an audible and visible alarm when main power failure is detected. The unit will then automatically switch to the appropriate backup supply.
Application:
• The MD76/8 generates an audible and visible alarm when the vessel deviates from a chosen course by more than a pre-set amount (in degrees).
• The MD76/8 is flexible in application and can be incorporated into a variety of different system configurations. It is especially suited to detecting vessel course deviations as part of a Transmitting Magnetic Compass (TMC) system or an Electromagnetic Compass System (EMC).
